BenQ America is now shipping the RP840G (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 20) 84″ interactive display.

Additionally, BenQ Europe has announced release details for the BL2711U 27″ UltraHD monitor (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 44). It will be available in March for €670 ex VAT. The company has also launched the XL2420G (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 3) 24″ G-Sync monitor. It is available for €460.

Dell‘s M3800 mobile workstation has been updated; it is now available with a 15.6″ UltraHD touch display (using IGZO technology), Thunderbolt 2 port and an additional 1TB of SSD storage (boosting total storage to 2TB). The product can be purchased now for $1,700.

Google‘s Nexus Player (Nexus Player Offers Gaming Continuity, Display Monitor Vol 21 No 41) is now available through new retailers in the USA. As well as Google’s own store, the first Android TV player can be purchased from Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, NewEgg and more.

Various LG digital signage displays that were announced towards the end of last year are now being shipped in the USA. They are the LV77A (55″, $8,600) and LV35A videowall monitors (47″ ($4,230) and 55″ ($4,920)); the LS55A series (42″, 47″ and 55″ ($1,150, $1,520, $2,300)); the LY340C commercial-grade HDTVs (nine sizes between 22″ and 65″ ($290 – $1,800)); and LY540S Supersign TVs (42″, 47″, 55″ and 65″ ($650, $845, $1,220, $1,860)).

The X981UHD (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 24) 98″ LCD display, from NEC, is now available.

Nvidia has unveiled a new Geforce GTX GPU called the GTX 960: a ‘cost-effective’ card using the Maxwell architecture. The GTX 960 features 1,024 CUDA cores, 4 texture mapping units and 32 raster operation units. It has a 1.1GHz clock speed and runs at 120W – with double the power efficiency of the previous generation (GTX 660), due to intelligent fan control. The card features DisplayPort (x3), HDMI 2.0 and dual-link DVI ports and can support up to four displays at once. Maximum resolution is 5120 x 3200. Pricing will start at $200.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 GPUIn a recent update to its Toughbook 31, Panasonic has extended the laptop’s battery life to 18 hours – or 27 hours with an optional second battery. A new processor (2.3GHz Intel Core i5) is integrated, as well as new Intel HD 5500 graphics and support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The laptop will be available in February, starting at $3,700.

Walmart has joined companies including Google, Amazon and Roku in producing an HDMI streaming stick. Customers can use the Vudu Spark (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 45) to rent, buy and browse TV shows and films. The stick supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080. It is available now, for $25. However, the low price comes with a cost: unlike competitor models, there are no streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, etc) outside of Vudu itself.
