BenQ announced the PD2710QC monitor for designers with a 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS panel that supports 100% of sRGB and Rec.709. It also has a USB-C connection that can provide 61W of power to notebooks along with DisplayPort and USB Type-C. The monitor also has HDMI and DisplayPort connections. The PD2700Q slipped by us when it was launched. This has the same resolution and colour support and has 350cd/m² of output with 1,000:1 contrast. Response time is 12ms. Connections include HDMI, DisplayPort and mini-DisplayPort as well as a headphone jack (there are dual 1W speakers). Height adjustment is 130mm and there is support for landscape or portrait mode. The monitor has a ‘darkroom’ mode for use in darker post-production environments and a CAD/CAM mode that boosts contrast as well as an ‘animation’ mode for making shadow details clearer. The company’s Display Pilot software can be used to allow different modes on different parts of the display when using Windows 10. The monitor supports ‘flicker free’ and low blue light mode.
It is selling for around $320 in the UK (plus tax).
