BC24 Asahi Promotes its Brand

Naoki Sugimoto is from Asahi Glass and he started by showing how images are likely to be seen on windscreens in the future. There can be no compromise on safety.

Asahi also has chemical and ceramics businesses as well as glass and that is a real advantage, it believes, and the company has a high share in a number of glass markets including automotive (which it started to make in the 1950s) and also smartphone glass substrates. As well as exterior glass, Asahi provides inside glass. Recently, luxury cars have started to use 10″ or 12″ LCDs in the instrument clusters and that creates new challenges.

As usual with Asahi talks, much of the talk was just promotion of the company.
