Barco is to acquire Advan International, a US-based manufacturer of high-quality LCD displays for medical modality applications. Advan’s US headquarters houses facilities for research and development and operations, while a second location in Seoul, South Korea, operates as a liaison office.
The total transaction cost amounts to a maximum of $18.5 million, including conditional earn out payments. Barco said that the acquisition will enable the company to expand its healthcare business, as well as enabling a worldwide expansion of the current OEM business.
