AWE2023: A Showcase of the Future of Smart Living, Samsung, TCL, Hisense and Toshiba Mini and MicroLED TVs

The recently concluded AWE2023 trade show, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, offered a comprehensive and immersive experience for attendees, demonstrating the latest innovations in smart living. With the theme “Smartize the Future,” the four-day event covered a range of cutting-edge technologies, including home appliances, consumer electronics, smart homes, digital products, entertainment, IoT, AI, wearables, VR/AR, connected vehicles, and robotics.

Spanning over 150,000 square meters and 13 exhibition halls, AWE2023 attracted more than a thousand exhibitors, including world-renowned companies and suppliers of core components. The event saw a record 350,000 visitors, with a significant increase in international attendees compared to previous years.

The integration of 5G and AI technologies played a central role in driving the development of smart homes. Companies like Haier and Huawei showcased their smart home solutions, with Haier’s Smart Home Brain platform offering seamless and personalized experiences, while Huawei unveiled its HarmonyOS-powered Whole House Smart Space 3.0, enabling smart connectivity between people, vehicles, and homes.

Global display giants Samsung and Sony presented their flagship TV models, the S95Z and A95L, respectively. Samsung’s 89-inch MicroLED made its global debut, and TCL’s MiniLED TV boasted a peak brightness of 5000 nits. In the 8K arena, Hisense introduced the world’s first 8K laser TV, and Sharp revealed the world’s first 120-inch 8K flagship TV.

Renowned home appliance brands like Miele, Bosch, Siemens, Fisher & Paykel, Electrolux, and Gorenje, along with Chinese manufacturers Gree, Fotile, Robam, and Vatti, showcased smart products focused on health, low-carbon emissions, and integrated design. Bathroom accessory, cleaning, beauty, and personal care companies such as HEGII, Arrow, Lexy, and Ecovacs also presented solutions to improve daily life.

AWE2023 explored a variety of smart home applications, extending to outdoor activities like travel and camping with new energy vehicles showcased by Huawei, Samsung, and Skyworth.

The event featured a live streaming campaign, attracting major media outlets and e-commerce platforms to launch May sales promotion. On social media, AWE2023 generated tens of millions of discussions and over 320 million reads, reflecting its immense popularity.
