Ateme Claims to Double HEVC Processing Speed

Ateme has developed a new transcoder that is claimed to double HEVC file processing speed.

The Titan File is applicable to both large and small screens; it ‘improves…video quality and bandwidth efficiency’ of content delivery to TVs, tablets, smartphones, consoles and PCs over managed networks or the internet. The transcoder can be used for VoD applications, post-production, playout and archive. As well as HEVC, the system supports H.264, MPEG2 in YUV 4:2:0, YUV 4:2:2 and more.

UltraHD resolutions at 60fps, and metadata such as HDR, can be supported in content played through the Titan File.

Up to 18 hot-plug blades – including two Intel Xeon processors each – can be used with the unit. It also features four hot-plug PSUs and dual RJ45 switches.

Ateme is selling the Titan File now; price is on application.
