Asda in the UK says it is to scale back its sales of consumer electronics, blaming fierce price competition on goods such as TVs. Asda’s CEO, Andy Clarke, said that some of its larger superstores would continue to sell CE goods. Tesco made a similar decision last summer, after reporting a 1% fall in like for like sales in Q1 (Display Monitor Vol 20 No 23).
