At CES 2017, Evena Medical is planning to show a system it calls ‘Eyes-on’ that is designed to be used by nurses and will allow them to see ‘through’ a patient’s skin to find hard-to-locate veins. The displays map images created using real-time ultrasound. Evena has a video on its site with a demonstration. The glasses are ‘tethered’ and use dual lighting sources and cameras to illuminate and map veins.
