Apple Vision Pro Spatial Computing Developer Tools Now Available

Apple  has said that developers can now use the visionOS SDK to create spatial computing apps for Vision Pro. In the coming month, Apple is opening developer labs in multiple global locations to provide developers with hands-on experience with the Vision Pro hardware. Developer kits will also be available for development teams to build and test directly on Vision Pro.

Developers can use existing Apple frameworks such as Xcode, SwiftUI, RealityKit, ARKit, and TestFlight. Apple is also introducing a new tool called Reality Composer Pro, available with Xcode, to help developers optimize 3D content for their visionOS apps. A visionOS simulator is also available for developers to explore and test room layouts and lighting conditions. In addition, starting next month, developers can port their 3D apps and games developed with Unity to Apple Vision Pro.

Apple has made the visionOS SDK, updated Xcode, Simulator, and Reality Composer Pro available for Apple Developer Program members. These members will have access to resources including technical documentation, new design kits, and updated human interface guidelines for visionOS.
