AOC Chooses Adaptive Sync

AOC’s has continued its trend of merging premium technologies in its newest desktop monitor: a 28″ unit called the U2879VF. The TN panel is a gaming display with UltraHD resolution, a 1ms response time and Adaptive Sync (compatible with AMD’s Freesync).

Low input lag is a feature of the monitor, says AOC, which also makes it appropriate for gamers. Colour depth is 10-bit (8-bit with frame rate control). Picture-by-picture and flicker-free functionality are also built in. -5º – 24º tilt is possible.

Brightness is 300 cd/m² and contrast ratio is 1,000:1. AOC says that the display has 178º/170º viewing angles (we are checking this claim). DisplayPort, MHL-HDMI (UltraHD at 60fps), DVI and VGA ports are featured.

AOC will begin to sell the U2879VF in March, for £225 ($325) ex VAT.
