IHS has predicted that AMOLED revenues in the small/medium display segment this year will reach $14.3 billion, just ahead of the $14 billion of a-si TFT LCD, making OLED the second biggest segment behind LTPS LCD, which is the biggest segment this year. Increasingly, the market will be split between LTPS LCD and AMOLED, with A-si LCD being squeezed.

Analyst Comment
This puts into value terms the drop in volume that IHS previously released in its forecast that AMOLED would be the top segment by volume in 2020. (OLED Will Overtake LCD by 2020). Of course, LCD overall is still double the value of AMOLED in total. (BR)
