Rovi Turns Into Tivo

Tivo has now been acquired by Rovi, which has decided to take on the Tivo brand. Two directors from the old Tivo have joined the board of the new Tivo, which is being listed on Nasdaq. The new company expects the merger to save $100 million a year, with 65% of this coming onto the books in the first year.

Tivo will bring together the products and technology, and say that this will help customers with their content choices. Currently the company is providing services for 25 million households and 500 pay-TV operators in 70 countries.
