Acer has put three directors onto AOpen’s board following the investment in the company, and Acer chairman, Jason Chen has been voted in as Chairman at an investors’ conference on January 30th. (Acer Now Largest Corporate Shareholder in AOpen). AOpen has been struggling to be profitable, although the company’s sales grew nearly 20% in 2017 and the loss was reduced.
At the conference, AOpen highlighted its close relationships with Google – it is the only supplier of Chromebox-based players for digital signage.
