Acer’s X3 Focuses on Security

Acer’s new TravelMate X359 notebook, the first in the X3 series, is designed for portability. It is 14″, weighing 1.5kg and measuring 18mm thick.

Intended for professional users, the notebook uses a 6th generation (Skylake) Intel Core processor and features up to 10 hours of battery life. It has 8GB of RAM and an SSD up to 512GB. The OS is Windows 10 Pro. A fingerprint sensor, Trusted Platform Module 2.0 chip and Acer’s ProShield Manager security suite are all pre-installed.

The IPS panel on the 14″ display has 1920 x 1080 resolution. The display is able to recline 180°, so that the notebook lies completely flat. A USB-C port is featured.

Acer will begin to sell the X359 in September, for €390 ex VAT.
