Reports from Taiwan had claimed that Acer’s domestic branch – which employs about 180 people – was to lay off between 10% and 20% of its staff recently. The company has responded that it will not make cuts, but is planning to restructure. Some employees will be moved to the ‘Bring Your Own Cloud’ unit, which develops apps for consumers.
