ACCC Says LG Misrepresented Responsibilities

LG has been targeted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, for ‘false or misleading representations’ about consumers’ rights in relation to faulty OLED TVs. The ACCC says that LG claimed that remedies available were limited to LG’s manufacturer’s warranty; that they would need to pay for the costs of assessing the failure; that LG was under no obligation to repair the TV; and that the consumer had to pay the labour costs for the repair.
