What They Say
Although there are negative signs in the smartphone market, Bloomberg reported that Apple has asked suppliers to maintain volumes of its new iPhones in line with last years launch – which means 90 million devices this year – as part of a total of around 220 million units. That is in line with 2021. Foxconn has said that it will be broadly flat this year and is a key supplier to Apple, of course.
The company is said to be banking that its customers are more affluent and may be less affected by difficult economic conditions globally.
What We Think
Apple is probably not wrong. I can’t see those I know that think any smartphone is an iPhone couldn’t brook the thought of not buying an Apple device. (BR)
