What They Say
An interesting article in C|Net looks at why Samsung is not really making much noise about AR glasses at the moment, despite being an early promoter of the technology with the launch of the Gear VR in 2014. It highlights that Samsung has often been a pioneer in technologies and benefited from that position, but hasn’t launched anything since its last GearVR in 2017.
Development has continued and The Verge had an article showing concepts last year.
What We Think
This reminded me that it is probably a year or more since the last time I picked up my GearVR. It rarely came out before that, but just on occasions when young family members came around. Perhaps I should dig it out. Then again, smartphones and GPUs have improved a lot, so it’s not exactly state of the art. (BR)
