5G and the FAA. A Charade

What They Say

Although it rarely impacts the display world, one of my favourite newsletters is the freebie sent out by Strand Consult on topics related to the smartphone industry. The newsletter expresses strong opinions in a forthright way. This week, John Strand has covered the dispute between the FAA and the FCC in the US over 5G and aircraft safety. His conclusion? That this dispute is about the FAA trying to raise $100 million from the smartphone industry to pay for upgraded altimeters. He highlights the steps have been taken in other countries, especially France, to show how the issue could be solved.
