LG Business Solutions USA have five new smartTVs specifically optimised for cruise ships. They have customisable interfaces built around the firms Pro:Centric technology. To suit a range of cabins, there are sizes from 22″ to 43″.
The circuitry in the sets is said to be treated with a “conformal coating on critical circuits (that) is designed to help protect the TVs from extreme low or high temperatures, dust, humidity and salty air in the harsh marine environment”.
What We Think
I spotted this article in a magazine, and surprisingly, the release for the products is not on the website of the LG Business Solutions Group. I was looking for more details of cruise-specific features, but those listed look the same other than the coating. Supplying cruise ships can be a good business and I know that LG in Germany did quite well with projects in this area in the past. (BR)
