Analysts Yole Développement discussed the developoment of microdisplay microLEDs with Jade Bird Displays (JBD) and the companies covered a number of interesting points about the competition between microLED, LCOS and DLP solutions for headsets. There is some interesting discussion on some of the issues of using 8″ or 12″ CMOS wafers and the challenges in developing GaN-on-Si.
The discussion also covers the use of the JBD displays by Vuzix.
What We Think
I have been impressed for a couple of years with what JBD has shown at CES. I’m missing the chance to see its technology ‘in the flesh’. (BR)
