SmallHD has a two new(ish) 5.5″ OLED touch-enabled monitors for DSLR and mirrorless cameras with FullHD resolution (402 ppi) and 350 cd/m² of output. The gamut is 105% of NTSC and the monitor has a micro-HDMI input and can load custom LUTs. The base model costs $699.
A second model supports an SDI input and supports 3G-, HD- and SD-SDI and costs $799.
Features include a range of software features including zoom using pinch zoom gestures and a range of video features including anamorphic de-squeeze, focus assist, peaking, false colour and zebra as well as wafeforms and a vectorscope.
The units weigh 141 gms and 118gms, respectively and use Sony L type batteries.
Analyst Comment
We missed these when they were announced a couple of months ago, but thought they looked interesting and look as though they offer good performance from a small form factor. If the weight is important, double check as the specifications weren’t completely clear, and we hadn’t got confirmation at press time. (BR)
