At the CineEurope show in Barcelona, Christie will preview its new CP4325-RGB, which is an RGB laser projector for premium large format cinemas. The projector is claimed to be the first ‘affordable’ design and has a compact design that does not use external cooling. The projector has a life of 30,000 hours to 80% brightness and has more than 5,000:1 contrast and the firm claims that the system has better uniformity and wider colour gamut than other laser-derived systems. It will be available in both 2K and 4K versions and will feature Christie’s new Cine Life series 3 electronics and embedded cinema automation for streamlined playback, scheduling and content management.

Chris saw this projector in another preview at Cinemacon, although at that time it was being talked about as a 4K unit only. (Christie Shows Range of Solutions at CinemaCon 2017). His article has a lot more information about the unit, which will ship at the end of the year. (BR)
