Facebook has launched its video app on Samsung Smart TV models of the last two years (2015-2017). Facebook has also stated that the app will be available on Apple TV and Fire TV, as well. The app offers gives access to Facebook’s catalogue of videos, including live streams from across the globe.
The app, one component of a strategy to challenge the likes of YouTube, is available in 190 countries and in 35 languages. The app provides access to a growing library of videos, including live videos and videos that are recommended based on user interests. The app is free to download from Samsung’s app store and the app will not include adverts at launch. Facebook stated that more platforms will follow later.
