BETT Busy as Normal

bettshow logoBETT took place in London’s Excel Centre and, as usual, was well attended and lively. The show is probably the most important event in the European education technology scene and there is a strong international presence in visitors. There was a lot of developments in touch and as we reported, FlatFrog was a big winner with a number of companies now supporting the company’s optical touch technology.

The other big trend that we really noticed was the emphasis on Chromebooks. Where schools have good connectivity to the cloud and Wi-Fi, Chromebooks make a lot of sense in terms of support and cost as well as simplicity in engineering.

Although we spotted some use of VR at the show, I didn’t spot a great deal going on apart from one or two dedicated booths. I’ll put my hand up and admit that I wasn’t searching VR out, but the number of people using headsets seemed small.

Next year, BETT will be from the 25th to the 28th of January at the Excel again.
