Netflix had a good quarter in Q4 2016, with 98.3 million subscribers at the end of the year, up 19 million on the year and 7 million up on Q3, while Q1 is expected to see 99 million members. The US saw 1.93 million additions in Q4, up 6.2 million annually. The overall growth in subscribers was bigger than any previous quarter.
The number of international subscribers is close to the US and the company said that the international business would edge into profit in Q1 2017.
In a letter to shareholders, the firm said that it will spend $6 billion on content in 2017 and $1 billion on technology and development.
