Juniper Research said that there will be 128 million smartphone-enabled VR devices, climbing to 492 million by 2020 – a growth of over 280% said the CIO blog. The report identifies gesture and motion interfaces as a key part of the development and the report forecasts that 50% of dedicated devices such as wearables and VR headsets will adopt the technology by 2021, although only around 5% of PCs and smartphones will use gesture control by then.
