Epson used InfoComm to announce additional solutions in the BrightLink Pro Series that further expand the application of the products in the office environment. The BrightLink Pro All-in-One Interactive Display comes equipped with a Da-Lite IDEA screen and the BrightLink Pro All-in-One Interactive Table comes with a motorized surface to simplify the way people work and collaborate together. These solutions are designed to increase productivity and meet the collaboration needs of today’s office environments.
The BrightLink Pro All-in-One Interactive Display includes an 87″ or 100″ Da-Lite IDEA screen with 2.5 gain for optimized visibility and superior image quality. The included finger-touch unit offers a digital pen or finger touch option to write, collaborate, and brainstorm on the display in real time whether in the meeting room or remotely from multiple devices.
The Table features a mobile, motorized work surface to increase the BrightLink Pro’s versatility and application around the office. Users can project presentations, illustrations, animations, and more onto the desktop table, and use the digital pen or finger touch capabilities to write and collaborate onto the projected document. The 50″ x 67″ hard top design features adjustable height for user’s comfort and increased flexibility in design, use, and deployment throughout the office.
The BrightLink Pro All-in-One Interactive Display bundle, incorporating an 87-inch and 100-inch screen, is available now through select Epson resellers. The BrightLink Pro All-in-One Interactive Table bundle will be available in July 2016.
Epson also showcased their new large venue projectors that have been shown previously and written about before as well (including a recent Display Daily by Bob). The big boy is the Pro L25000U installation laser projector – the world’s first 3LCD laser projector with 25,000 lumens of color brightness and 25,000 lumens of white brightness. It integrates a sealed optical engine with laser-light source with an inorganic phosphor wheel in combination with inorganic LCD panels for up to 20,000 hours of virtually maintenance-free operation, including 24/7 use for applications that require continuous projection. This is a WUXGA (1920×1200) model that accepts a 4K signal and scales it down. A 4K-UHD native model is expected later.
The Epson Pro L25000U ($99,999 MSRP) is available now for purchase through authorized retailers and will start shipping in fall 2016. The projector comes with a limited warranty of three years or 20,000 hours, whichever comes first.
Epson also showed the same color light output demo that it showed at ISE (Epson is Serious About Colour Light Output) comparing three 1-chip 7000 lumen DLP models to a 3LCD model of the same rated brightness. As expected, the 1-chip models don’t have the same color performance at the rated output as the 3LCD model as TI uses the color wheel to create some white light to boost the brightness in the bright mode.
Epson’s metrology consultant, Karl Lang, readily admits that if the projectors are placed in cinema mode, they can produce good accurate colors – but at a lower luminance level. He also acknowledges that 3-chip DLP projectors perform as well as 3LCD projectors at the rated luminance values. – CC
