Several companies are moving into the VR camera space – Samsung chief among them – and this week we saw one that will be at NAB called the NakedEYE, which is impressive for its small size.
The NakedEYE was built by a company called Indiecam. It is capable of shooting 360° video in UltraHD resolution, using two large-format global shutter sensors. These have 2k x 2k resolution each and are full synchronised. On-the-move photography is supported; shooting is not limited to a static point.
Indiecam’s camera is just 79mm in diameter and weighs 380g. It records CinemaDNG RAW files. Indiecam will be on stand C7947.
