Hisense was showing several new smartphones, two of which – in the company’s quest to become a premium international brand – featured AMOLED displays: the C1 and A1.
The Hisense C1 is the first with the new Vision UI 2.0, Hisense’s own reskin of Android 5.1. This runs on a 1.36GHz octa-core Mediatek processor. The 5.5″ AMOLED display (1280 x 720) enables a slim design: the phone is 5.7mm thick. In addition, it has 16GB of ROM, a 2,500mAh battery and dual SIM slots.
A rugged model, the C20, was unveiled with water- and dust-proof features (IP67). Hisense also boasted about ‘superior protection of users’ data’, without going into any detail! The phone is a 5″ unit with an octa-core processor, 16GB of ROM and a 3,000mAh battery.
Like the C1, Hisense’s A1 has a 5.5″ AMOLED display. It is a top-midrange handset with a dual LED flash, dual nano SIM slots and 13MP and 2MP cameras on the rear of the device. The dual camera set-up means that more light can be captured for photography in dim environments. Photographs can also be refocused after being shot. The cameras features a fast autofocus and the phone also has a fingerprint reader.
Finally we looked at the L676, a 5″ (1280 x 720) handset with 13MP/5MP cameras, a dual LED flash and One Glass Solution touch screen.
All of Hisense’s new phones are available in China now or coming soon. A release in other markets will depend on demand.
