LG has announced that it plans to start using OLED displays for its flagship phones by the second half of 2017. LG Display is expected to start producing OLEDs for LG’s mobile phones, rather than LG purchasing the panels from domestic rival Samsung Display. The firm is building a flexible OLED fab in South Korea now, which is set to begin mass production in the first half of 2017 (LGD to Invest $906 Million in G6 OLED Fab).
