Visteon announced the inauguration of India’s first automotive display bonding center in Chennai. The state-of-the-art 13,000-square-foot facility is an expansion to the existing Visteon Electronics India center and will enable the company to better serve its customers in the region and across the globe.
This new facility is a significant milestone for the automotive industry in India, as it will not only create new job opportunities but also contribute to the local economy. Visteon’s latest investment in Chennai is aimed at producing next-generation cockpit displays with the advanced design, high-resolution, and sizes that automakers are currently seeking.
João Paulo Ribeiro, senior vice president of operations, supply chain and procurement at Visteon, said in a statement, “This new facility is essential to producing next-generation cockpit displays with the design, resolution and sizes that automakers are looking for today.”
The Chennai facility is equipped with cutting-edge robotic technology, which has been incorporated from Visteon locations worldwide. These innovations will enable the bonding and assembly of large, curved displays. As a testament to its commitment to quality, Visteon’s highly automated display manufacturing facilities adhere to ISO 7 cleanroom standards, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness and contamination control.
