A new line of DLP projectors has been announced by BenQ, which will be shown at Infocomm 2015 (13th – 19th June, Orlando). Each has been built to cover 100% of the sRGB colour space, rather than relying on high brightness levels.
Currently only the existing two projectors have data sheets available: the flagship HC1200 (BenQ Boasts of 100% sRGB Coverage) and professional PU9730 (BenQ Accepts Competitors’ Lenses). However, three more models will be added to the ‘Colorific’ line.
The PU9530 is a P-Series model, like the PU9730. It has slightly lower brightness (6,000 lumens, rather than 7,000 lumens), but is otherwise much the same. Resolution is 1920 x 1200 and the unit supports 360° installation. It also features a motorised zoom, focus and lens shift, as well as HDBaseT connectivity and seven interchangeable lenses.
BenQ’s S-Series are also professional models: the SU964 has 6,500 lumens of brightness and the SU922 has 5,000 lumens. Contrast ratios and 8,300:1 and 3,000:1, respectively. Both units have 1920 x 1200 resolution; a 1.5x zoom; horizontal and vertical lens shift; corner fit correction; and LAN control. HDMI (x2) and HDBaseT (x2) connections are featured.
We will be attending Infocomm next month and will bring you more information on the projectors from the show.
