BenQ Boasts of 100% sRGB Coverage

BenQ claims 100% sRGB colour coverage on its new Colorific DLP projector, the HC1200. A test pattern is embedded for more precise calibration during set-up.

Power efficiency is key to BenQ’s projectors; many of them share features, and the HC1200 is no exception. It has Eco Blank, Smart Eco and No Source Detected modes; these save power, extend lamp life and help to keep attention focused on a speaker.

Supporting flexible installation, the HC1200 is compatible with Crestron and PJ Link LAN control systems. An upper lamp door is built in, for easy lamp access, and the unit will restart immediately after being turned off. Optical zoom goes to 1.5x, with +/-40 deg vertical keystone correction and 130% (+/-5%) lens shift.

Resolution is 1920 x 1080, with an 11,000:1 contrast ratio and 10-bit colour. The HC1200 uses a 310W lamp, lasting between 2,000 and 3,000 hours and outputting 2,800 lumens of brightness. Throw ratio is 1.39 – 2.09:1 (26″ – 300″ image).

Inputs for HDMI (x2), VGA (x2), composite, S-Video, USB-B, RJ45 and RS232 are featured, alongside an IR receiver and 5W speaker. The HC1200 measures 360 x 259 x 120mm and weighs 3.7kg. It is available in the USA now, for $1,400.
