Eizo Reaches New Pixel Density Record

The newest UltraHD monitor from Eizo is the 23.8″ CG248-4K – part of the ColorEdge line, which is aimed at graphics professionals.

Because it is for professional use, the display supports 10-bit colour and is factory-calibrated. It covers 77% of Rec.2020, 93% of DCI-P3, 99% of Adobe RGB and 100% of the sRGB, EBU and SMPTE-C standards. A self-calibration sensor is built in, for use with Eizo’s ColorNavigator 6 (bundled) and ColorNavigator NX software.

As an UltraHD unit, the monitor has the highest pixel density of any ColorEdge display: 185 ppi. A dedicated function enables users to zoom in on specific areas of the screen. Brightness, chromaticity and tone will stabilise within three minutes of powering on – rather than the 30 minutes a typical monitor takes.

A new cabinet features backlit-buttons, a carrying handle and ergonomic stand. The monitor will tilt between -5° and 35°, swivel 344°, pivot 90° and is height adjustable to 150mm.

Eizo’s Digital Uniformity Equaliser (DUE) ensures a Delta-E difference of <3 across the screen. A shading hood is shipped with the monitor. The unit is also supplied with a five year warranty.

An IPS panel, with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 178° viewing angles and 14ms response time, is used. Brightness is 350 cd/m², or 120 cd/m² when calibrated. DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3.0 (x3) and USB-B inputs are featured.

Eizo is showing the monitor at The Photography Show 2015, from 21st – 24th March. It will be shipped in April and will be available in the UK in May or June.
