Members of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) have received several Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). Oscars were presented to Larry Hornbeck of Texas Instruments (TI) and David Gray of Dolby Laboratories. Other awards went to Steven Tiffen and Michael Fecik of The Tiffen Company; SMPTE Fellow Iain Neil; and Brad Walker and colleagues at TI.
