Silicon Image has signed an agreement to be acquired by Lattice Semiconductor for approximately $600 million. The transaction has been unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies and is expected to close by the end of March 2015.
Lattice Semiconductor specialises in low-power, small form factor semiconductors for connected consumer devices and industrial automation. Lattice said the takeover will add immediately to earnings and generate at least $32 million in synergies within a year of closing.
