Asus‘ Zenwatch (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 36) will be on sale in the UK from the 23rd December. It will initially be sold exclusively at Currys and PC World, for £165 ($260).
Fujitsu has released a tablet using an OLED display (from Samsung) in Japan. The Arrows Tab F-03G features a 10.5″ screen with 2560 x 1600 resolution, which is the same panel used in the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The tablet features a 2.3GHz CPU, quad-core GPU, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and runs Android 4.4. As an Arrows model, the product is both water- and dustproof (our apologies for missing this tablet when it was announced in October).
The Honor 6 Plus from Huawei is a revision to the Honor 6 smartphone (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 43). The new handset features an upgraded camera (dual 8MP rear camera sensors) and the ability to refocus images after they’ve been taken. The display is larger, at 5.5″ instead of 5″, and the SoC is the Kirin 925 instead of the Kirin 920. The phone will cost $320 for the 3G version and $400 for the 4G model.
A new convertible has been released by LG for the Korean market, although full specifications have not been shared. The Tab Book Duo runs Windows 8.1 on a quad-core Intel processor, with a battery life of 11 hours. The 10.1″ display uses an IPS panel. Micro-HDMI and USB 3.0 ports are featured. The tablet costs KRW637,000 ($625).
The Motorola/Google Nexus 6 smartphone is now available online, although is listed with a three-to-four week shipping time.
A new sub-$100 Windows tablet has been produced by Vido for the Chinese market. The W8C costs CNY510 ($80) and features an 8″ display with 1280 x 800 resolution (IPS panel); a quad-core Intel Atom processor; 2GB of RAM; and 32GB of storage. It is a Windows 8.1 with Bing model, with a year’s subscription to Office 365.
