More than 55 million Chromecast units have now shipped, Google said, since it launched the first one a little over four years ago. One year ago, the figure stood at 30 million and now it has passed 55 million, including both dongles and Chromecast built into TVs.
Rick Osterloh said that it becomes harder to differentiate hardware and that the next breakthrough is the convergence of hardware with AI and deep learning.
