Barco has achieved a new milestone, with 100 all-laser cinema multiplexes now operating worldwide, using either the company’s Flagship Laser or Smart Laser projectors.
These cinemas are seeing a marked increase in cost and operational efficiency as a result of switching from conventional lamps and lenses to lasers.

Long-term partner Kinepolis was the first to open an all-laser multiplex in the Netherlands over a year ago, increasing customer satisfaction and reducing energy consumption by 30%. The company has since opened three additional all-laser multiplexes.
Several other cinema firms have launched all-laser multiplexes in the past year, including National Amusements, Inc., CinemaCity, The Grinn Film Multiplex, Cinesystem Cinemas, Cinemex, Megabox Korea and Reel Cinemas.
Barco will demonstrate its laser projection cinema tech in dedicated info sessions at this year’s ShowEast expo at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, which takes place from October 24th to the 26th.
