TVs from LG, Samsung, and Sony will now have the YouTube Kids app installed. The app was introduced a little over two years ago by Google, and is available in 26 countries with more to follow. Google says that the service has streamed 30 billion views and that it has 8 million weekly active viewers. YouTube Kids features such items as science experiments, cartoons and special videos for kids, and was already available on phones, tablets, and on the web.
The app will be available on all 2015 – 2017 LG webOS TVs via the LG content store; on all 2013 – 2017 Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-Ray Players that have access to the Samsung app store; and following a firmware update, on 2016-2017 Sony TVs. The app will be available on Sony Android TVs soon.
