China’s film production facility, Wuxi Studios, has recently introduced the country’s largest LED volume for film. In collaboration with the China Research Institute of Film Science & Technology (CRIFST), Wuxi Studios chose ROE Visual, a well-known provider of LED-based solutions, to supply the state-of-the-art LED screen.
Measuring an impressive 44 meters in width and 10 meters in height (144′ x 32′), the semi-circular LED volume is constructed using 1,760 Black Pearl BP2V2 LED panels from ROE Visual. The successful installation of the LED volume marks a significant milestone in China’s virtual production technology. Director of CRIFST, Wei Zhang, describes the project as an integrated high-tech endeavor, merging the LED volume with a 5G network transmission system and artificial intelligence.
According to the companies involved, the completion of the LED volume at Wuxi Studios has sparked a surge in booking requests. The inaugural creative project shot within this remarkable LED volume is Stellar Echo.
