Japan Display Inc. (JDI) agreed with TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology (TCL CSOT) have agreed to enter into a patent cross-license agreement for liquid crystal displays (LCDs), pursuant to which JDI will receive license fees from TCL CSOT. The impact of the license fees on JDI’s earnings forecasts is not clear, but is being reviewed by the company for future announcements. JDI’s advanced technologies and intellectual property (IP) assets are its most important strategic resources.
