WD Works With Fox and Samsung for UHD Storage

Western Digital has shown off a new storage device for UltraHD content. The ‘My Passport Cinema’ drive uses the Vidity system (Hollywood’s UltraHD Service Becomes Vidity). It will work with Vidity-compatible displays and other devices, with content from 20th Century Fox. The product will cost $90 and has 1TB of storage. From the 16th August 2015 to the 30th June 2016, a My Passport Cinema drive will be bundled with all Samsung JS9000, JS9100 or JS9500 TVs, with pre-loaded films (we understand this to be replacing Samsung’s UHD Movie Pack).
