Hollywood’s UltraHD Service Becomes Vidity

Several studios and companies have collaborated to develop an UltraHD download service for Hollywood films, which has been named Vidity. The service was originally known as the Secure Content Storage Association, which we heard about at IFA 2014 (Samsung Brings B2B to Consumer Show). Any films downloaded using the service will only be playable on devices specifically supporting Vidity, which will be available later this year. A US launch will come first, followed by an international rollout. Stakeholders include 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Dolby (HDR has been mentioned), Samsung and LG.
