Warner Bros has confirmed that its first Ultra HD Blu-ray release will be season one of HBO’s Westworld.
Warner Bros was announced as one of the many studios planning to work with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos surround sound in January 2017. Over 40 of the studio’s titles are available in Dolby Vision on iTunes, but the release of the Westworld Blu-ray marks the first of Warner’s physical releases to utilise the format.
Westworld began life as a 1973 movie by Michael Crichton, and has since been developed into a 10-part series starring Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton and Anthony Hopkins.
The Ultra HD Blu-ray comes out on November 7th. Season two of Westworld is in production and planned for release in 2018.
