Vuzix said that it has received two CES Innovation Awards for its Vuzix Shield glasses which are due to ship in the second half of 2022. The unit uses dual microLED projection units and waveguides for binocular operation. The glasses also operate as safety glasses and are certified to ANSI Z87.1. The units are self-contained with an 8-core APU.

That adds to the three awards that the glasses won at the last CES! The Shield will use microLEDs from JBD with Vuzix’s own engine. (BR)
