What They Say
Vizio has started to ship its first OLED TVs in the US and are priced at $1,199 for the 55″ and $1,999 for the 65″. Features include HDMI 2.1, eARC and FreeSync and the panels support 120Hz.
What We Think
I recently bought an OLED TV after a lot of soul searching about burn-in and I absolutely love it. I’ll write a DD about this shortly. The Vizio TVs are very aggressively priced and I would expect that the firm will start to take a share quite quickly, but bear in mind the very limited market for premium TVs in the US (Pricing Reality in the Display Market) HDTV Test reported that the Vizio is the only US OLED TV that has the full 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and also supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Of course, in Europe, Panasonic supports both these, but doesn’t sell the sets in the US. (BR)
