Vivitek’s Qumi range has been expanded to include three new LED DLP projectors for office, personal and home use. They are the Q7 Plus, Q7 Lite and Q4. The Q7 models are compatible with Vivitek’s mobile remote control app. The Q4, designed for office use, features embedded closed captioning and six pre-set image modes, as well as three user-defined modes.
The projectors have an embedded web browser (with connectivity through a USB dongle), 3D support and 2D-to-3D conversion. Office documents can be displayed. The projectors also feature 4GB of on-board storage. Their solid-state light sources have a 30,000-hour lifetime, providing 500, 1,000 or 700 lumens of brightness, respectively (the only difference between the Q7 Plus and Q7 Lite).
Resolution is 1280 x 800 on all models, with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio and 100% vertical image offset.
The Q4 has a 1.55:1 throw ratio, throwing a 30″ – 90″ image from 1m – 3m from the screen. It features an MHL-HDMI (v1.3) port and a USB port for service. Measurements are 160 x 102.4 x 32.3mm, weighing 460g. The projector is on sale for £265 ($415).
Both Q7 models have a 1.3 – 1.43:1 throw ratio; they can project a 26″ – 107″ image from 0.8m – 3m away, and have a 1.1x zoom. Both units also feature -35 deg /32 deg keystone correction, two 2W speakers and MHL-HDMI (v1.4), VGA, composite and USB ports. They measure 238 x 180 x 40mm and weigh 1.4kg. They are available now for £465 ($730) (Q7 Lite) and £535 ($840) (Q7 Plus).
