One of the accessories desired by very serious VR users is equipment that allows safe movement. The Omni VR Treadmill is a crowd-funded device that raised $1.1m on Kickstarter. However, the company has now had to restrict sales to the US only because shipping the box, which weighs 80kg, has proved impractical. The company also said that “The hardest part of fulfillment is not the initial delivery of the Omni and various accessories (albeit costly and complicated), but complying with international regulations and the global shipping and storing of replacement parts necessary to effectively support a range of geographically diverse customers.” Refunds will be issued to those outside the US.
